BUSINESS INFORMATION:
CSPMI is a no-profit company. Established in 1982, it is the training organization of API (Association of Small and Medium Industries), it has 4 training centres in Emilia Romagna Region: in Reggio Emilia (main office), Forlė-Cesena, Modena and Parma, for a total amount of 65 employees. Since 2007 it has also been operating in Romania through Formim, a company that CSPMI has set up in this country.
It is accredited by the Emilia Romagna Region to manage publicly funded training activities. CSPMI operates supported, at local level, by API which takes part in CONFAPI (member of UEAPME).
The main goal of CSPMI is to contribute to the development and qualification of SMEs through training and consulting services.
REGION INFORMATION:
Reggio Emilia is located 150 km from Milan and 60 km from Bologna (with its airport for domestic and international flights) and is linked to both centres by an up-to date railway system. Reggio Emilia is also located in the heart of the Emilia Romagna region which boasts one of the highest per capita GDPs (Gross Domestic Product) in Europe and accounts for 8.4% of the Italian and 1.6% of the European GDP. Reggio Emilia's great economic strength lies in the truly outstanding level of its entrepreneurial culture throughout the area.
Many industrial companies, mainly medium-small sized companies, in Reggio Emilia owe their leading position within Italy and throughout the world to the fact that they are clustered in districts. The great strength of Reggio Emilia's economy lies in its manufacturing sector. This includes 9,400 companies, of which 4,200 are metal working and mechanical industries.( low-powered agricultural machinery., gardening equipment, machinery for agriculture and forestry - high pressure hydraulic pumps for industrial applications).
Reggio Emilia plays also a leading role "in the world" because it is home to the biggest ceramic tiles district in the world. The textile and clothing industry, including the knitwear and ready-to-wear sectors, represents an important sector of the economy.
